New Coaches to join AST Burnham and start up new Junior Squad

The Academy Swim Team are delighted to announce that as of 1st May 2024 Lewis Plume and Chris Wood will be joining our Coaching team. Lewis will be taking charge of the new Junior Squad which will be an entry point for new swimmers into the Club. This new 2 hours per week squad will have an entry criteria of a swimmer being able to swim between 2 to 4 lengths of the pool and have an understanding of all 4 strokes. Chris will be supporting Lewis in this role and both are Level 1 qualified Coaches.

Part of Lewis’s role will also include organising and supporting the club to enter various team gala’s around the county. Gala’s have been missed this year throughout the squad and we feel with Lewis and Chris now joining the team it enables us to evolve as a club and gives us the opportunity to bring back more of these team events.

Lewis and Chris will start meeting all of the coaches and swimmers during the first half of May before trial sessions for the new squad begin week commencing the 13th May. We are looking forward to them starting with us as we continue to grow our coaching team.
