£208 Raised At Ritz Quiz Night!

A huge thank you to the residents of Burnham-on-Sea and the surrounding areas for supporting Academy Swim Team at last night’s Ritz Quiz Night! 💙 Thanks to your incredible support, we raised an amazing £208 for the club. It was a fantastic evening with a brilliant atmosphere, plenty of laughs, and some very competitive quizzing! A special thank you to Kirsty, Lewis, Sarah and Mollie for bringing along teams and representing AST (especially Kirsty and Mollie for going up to accept the donation on behalf of the club in front of everyone!), and a massive thank you to The Ritz Social Club for hosting the event and supporting our club. Every penny raised helps us continue to provide opportunities for our swimmers, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and took part. We can’t wait for the next one! 🏊‍♂️🎉

Have a great summer!

Today marks the end of another fantastic swimming season for Academy Swim Team! 🏊💙 As the summer holidays get into full swing, we’d like to wish all of our swimmers, families, coaches and volunteers a brilliant summer. For those continuing to train over the summer, the full training schedule and your individual sessions can be found on our new Members Portal: https://astbos.co.uk/portal/login We look forward to seeing you at your scheduled sessions and, for many of you, at our outdoor swim at Portishead Lido on 8th August. 🌞 We’d also like to give a huge welcome to all of our new members who have joined AST over the past few months. It’s been fantastic to see so many new faces become part of the club. A massive thank you also goes to all of our existing swimmers and families for making everyone feel so welcome and for being such fantastic ambassadors for AST throughout the year. Finally, if you’re looking for a fun evening with the AST family, we still have a few spaces available for our Quiz Night on Monday 27th July. If you’d like to come along, just send us a message! Have an amazing summer everyone, whether you’re training, relaxing or heading off on holiday. We’ll see you poolside soon! 💙🏊☀️

A brilliant club gala and community day

What a fantastic day at the gala: swimming, food, laughter and great memories as AST welcomed neighbouring clubs. The event raised funds for the club and brought new volunteers into the team; thank you to our coaches, bakers, raffle and BBQ crews, Burnham Swim & Sports Academy and everyone who helped. We are also looking for a small fundraising committee.

Gala day ends with a BBQ, music and ice cream

The BBQ was hot, the music was playing and the ice cream van was in. Thank you to Taunton Deane Swimming Club for joining AST at the gala, and to everyone who helped make the day special.

Volunteers prepare the gala BBQ

Preparation was underway early Saturday with volunteers cutting onions, baking, cooking and gathering games. Thank you to volunteers across swimming clubs nationwide who make these experiences possible for children.

TDSC Summer Sprint gets off to a flying start

Session 1 brought medals, personal bests and fantastic team spirit for AST at the TDSC Summer Sprint. We are proud of the effort from every swimmer and ready for Session 2.

AST celebrates a brilliant BoS Super 6 weekend

AST swimmers delivered personal bests, medals and a joint second place in the overall points. Congratulations to Heidi for winning the Girls Top Points award, and thank you to Burnham-on-Sea Swimming Club and the AST parent who supplied ice lollies.

Cycling challenge complete at 240,000m

Our cycling challenge reached 240,000m—175% of the original target—in just four hours. Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the club; the swim challenge was still going at 43,700m (1,748 lengths).

AST cycle target smashed

The original cycle target was officially smashed as fresh swimmers arrived, the stall stayed busy and cakes kept coming. The live tracker was updated beyond 100%; come to Burnham-on-Sea Swim & Sports Academy to support the challenge.

AST fundraising challenge is live

We were live at the Swim Academy Open Day with swimmers and cyclists taking on the fundraising challenge. Follow the tracker from home, share it with family and friends, and donate through the challenge page.
